My final concert is intended to be a milestone in my musical path. After four years in this marvelous country it's time for a new chapter in life. Knowing, that the Netherlands and Utrecht will always be a place to go back to, will always be a home.
Artist statement
As an absolutely enthusiastic researcher, my work is focused on Historical Informed Performance Practice from the XVII century to the XX century.
Ambitions
In the future, I would love to combine my two great passions (research and performance) and make them my professional path.
Learned during the studies
That because you cannot see it doesn't mean it's not happening. This is a phrase I had to repeat myself a lot during these four years at school. Musicians' work is very often an ant's work: small and slow. It's not until you see things with time perspective that you realize how much you've grown as a person and as a musician.
List of publications / exhibitions / prices / concerts / shows etc.
June 27th at 12:30 in the Lutheresekerk, Utrecht, my final graduation concert.
What causes stage fright in children?
As a child, I remember having a lot of fun when playing in front of people, but soon enough stage fright invaded my life. Although I don’t remember having it before I was in my teens, it struck me awfully when this past summer while working in a music summer camp with kids, some of those kids were very much afraid of playing in the evening concerts.
That's when I thought I needed to discover when, how, and why playing in public becomes from being a fun and joyful experience into a nightmare. Which factors exactly make it easier to trigger stage fright in children, and which tools can teachers, parents and society have in order to prevent those experiences.
